Why did the terrorist bomb the twin towers?
They wanted to prove that the United States wasn't a safe place to be in or live in.
They were gonna bomb the military but instead they went for the twin towers because it was an easier task for them to accomplish.
They hijacked 5 planes.Two crashed into the World Trade Center,One landed into a field Pennsylvania , one hit the Pentagon, and the last one didn’t even take off.
The planes that hit the World Trade Center were American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175.

Why were people jumping off the twin towers ?
Intense smoke and heat pushed people to make this choice.
Some people would choose to jump but other had decided just to fall.
What was America's reaction to the bombing ?
The nation became more mourn, and around the country American's began to commemorate the victims and demonstrate their patriotism.
Some flew their American flag from their porches and car antennas others pinned it to their lapels or wore it on their t-shirts.
On September 11, 2001 a “ Islamic extremist terrorist group al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States."

A total of 2,977 people were killed.

They are the world's most in famous terrorist organization.
Al-Qaeda "the base" in Arabic is the network of extremists organized by Osama bin Laden.
These terrorists believe that what they're doing is good. They believe that when they die, God will reward them by allowing them into the heaven.
Osama bin Laden was the main person that started Al Qeada.
What was the cost of the damage?
The cost went up to 5 billion or more dollars to re-fix New York City.
The loss of four civilian aircraft valued at $385 million.
The destruction of major buildings in the World Trade Center with a replacement cost of from $3 billion to $4.5 billion.
Damage to a portion of the Pentagon: up to $1 billion.
Cleanup costs: $1.3 billion.
Property and infrastructure damage: $10 billion to $13 billion.
