Contributions of Foreign and Local Scientist to Electricity Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 17, 1706 and baptized at Old South Meeting House. That experiment led to his discovery of positive and negative electricity Franklin was a prodigious inventor. Among his many creations were the lightning rod, glass armonica, Franklin stove, bifocal glasses and the flexible urinary catheter. Franklin also organized an effective postal system, mapped the Gulf Stream and recognized the aurora borealis as an electrical phenomenon. Alessandro Giuseppe Antonio Anastasio Gerolamo Umberto Volta (18 February 1745 – 5 March 1827) He was an Italian physicist known especially for the invention of the battery in the 1800s. Volta was born in Como, Italy Benjamin Franklin In June 1752,Franklin proved that lightning is a form of electricity with the famous, and very dangerous, kite experiment.

Coulomb was born in Angoulême, France, to an affluent family. His father, Henri Coulomb, was inspector of the Royal Fields in Montpellier. His mother, Catherine Bajet, came from a wealthy family in the wool trade. Coulomb confirmed experimentally that electrical charges attract or repel one another by an inverse square law Coulomb's law or Coulomb's inverse-square law is a law of physics describing the electrostatic interaction between electrically charged particles. Otto Von Guericke Charles Augustin de Coulomb André-Marie Ampère (20 January 1775 – 10 June 1836) was a French physicist and mathematician who is generally regarded as one of the main discoverers of electromagnetism. The SI unit of measurement of electric current, the ampere, is named after him. Ampere had discovered electrodynamic forces between linear current conductors. He found out that electric tension and electric current manifested electromagnetic force. Andre Marie Ampere Georg Simon Ohm was born in Erlangen, Bavaria, son to Johann Wolfgang Ohm, a locksmith and Maria Elizabeth Beck, the daughter of a tailor in Erlangen. Georg Simon Ohm (16 March 1789 – 6 July 1854) was a German physicist. As a high school teacher, Ohm began his research with the recently-invented electrochemical cell, invented by Italian Count Alessandro Volta. He established the relationship among voltage, current, and resistance Ohm's law states that the potential difference (voltage) across an ideal conductor is propoertional to the current passing George Simon Ohm Thomas Alva Edison (February 11, 1847 – October 18, 1931) was an American inventor and businessman. He developed many devices that greatly influenced life around the world, including the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical electric light bulb. Thomas Alva Edison Alexander Graham Bell (March 3, 1847 –August 2, 1922) was an eminent scientist, inventor, engineer and innovator who is credited with inventing the first practical telephone. Alexander Bell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 3, 1847 Alexander Graham Bell Karl Friedrich Benz, (November 25, 1844 – April 4, 1929) was a German engine designer and car engineer, generally regarded as the inventor of the gasoline-powered car. And Together with Bertha Benz pioneering founder of the automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz.

Among Filipino scientists, he is perhaps the most notable in the field of electricity Gregorio Zara Louis Cabbigat Ifugao engineer Louis Cabbigat designed a system that now supplies electricity to two remote villages in Ifugao. His first invention is a swing that pumped water when children played on it. Although an amateur engineer with no formal training, he was also able to design two micro-hydroelectric plants. These power plants won him a Far Eastern Economic Review Award in 2000 Agapito Flores was born in Guiguinto, Bulacan, Philippines on September 28, 1897. Maramba, Sr. Felix Maramba built a coconut oil-fueled power generator. He is also the developer of one of the world's most profitable biogas systems. Rudy Lantano Mr. Rudy Lantano, is the inventor of Alco-diesel, Lan-gas and Superbunker Formula L (SBFL). Rudy Lantano is also one of the many Filipinos who have brought honor to the country. He won the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) gold medal for developing Super Bunker Formula-L used in vehicles. Fe del Mundo, the first Asian to have entered the prestigious Harvard University's School of Medicine, is also credited for her studies that led to the invention of incubator and jaundice relieving device. Del Mundo, an International Pediatric Association (IPA) awardee, is an alumna of the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Medicine.
