Biographical Notes Works of Art Poem "Deaf Donald" Deaf Donald met Talkie Susie But was all he could do And Sue said, "Donald I sure like you." But was all he could do. And Sue asked Donald, "Do you like me too?" But "Goodbye then, Donald, I'm leaving you." But was all he could do. And she left forever so she never knew That means I love you. was all he could do. Shel Silverstein was born on September 25, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. He died on May 10, 1999 in Key West, Florida. He was an American poet, songwriter, cartoonist, screenwriter & author of children's books.
