Transcript of Janelle C - Freedom

So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
Galatians 5:1 FREEDOM For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life
John 3:16
What exactly is freedom? Back in the Garden of Eden Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Genesis 1:15-17 Why couldn't God just make everything good? If everything was good, how can man use his free will? Supppose Adam and Eve had a really big quarell Will it cost them the garden? No because the only prohibition was to not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil What is the law? The 613 commandments (including the 10 listed in Exodus) God gave his people in the old testament The agreement (covenant) that God had with his people was that you must keep all the commandments (law) and if you break one you are guilty of all (refer to James 2:10) Why? In Exodus 19, God gave Moses the law (commandments) up on Mt Sinai in which the Israelites agreed to obey. This put God's people in bondage instead of giving them freedom because they were unable to fill the requirements of the law no matter how hard they tried.
God made man, not a robot. So he could choose to love Him, to serve Him, to worship Him, etc. God created Adam and Eve and He gave them the FREEDOM of CHOICE God never gave the law to justify man. God gave the law in order to show man that he cannot keep it. The agreement (covenant) that God had with his people was that you must keep all the commandments (law) and if you break one you are guilty of all (refer to James 2:10) We're not under this covenant anymore, we are under the new covenant God found fault in the old covenant What is the new covenant? “Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,[a] says the LORD. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
Jeremiah 31-34

God Will remember our sins no more By creating this new covenant GOD SETS US FREE from having a sin conscious mind I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts In this new covenant, there is nothing for you to do, but believe You must believe that in this new covenant it is based on what Jesus has done on the cross It is not that God has gone soft on sin. It is because God has already punished your sin in the body of Jesus Christ on the cross God sees your entire life. He knew your sins that you will commit before you commit them, even before you were born because your sins were future when Jesus died The stuff you do you wont want to do anymore but instead you'll want to draw closer to God Because God lives outside time He is able to take all our sins and place them on Jesus and punish Jesus for all our sins You are forgiven of your entire life It's when you realise you are forgiven that you don't worry about thinking the wrong thing because the more you try to not think of the wrong thing the more you end up thinking about it. The more we don't worry about it we'll have dominion and this comes when you know your sins are forgiven Being free from a sin conscious mind When God says I will remember their sins no more, there is no punishment for you in the future which sets us free from our sins
