O Brother, Where Art
Thou The Odyssey- Odysseus meets Tireseus the God of the underworld.
O Brother, Where Art Thou- Everett, Pete, and Delmar meet the blind man on the railroad. Friends turned into animals Even more Similarities Both journey back to their families. More similarities Setting Differences An epic hero is a hero in an epic poem.
Both Odysseus and Everett are Epic Hero's. EPIC DUDE! Similarities In both movies the the Hero's: Face the Sirens The Odyssey-Siren's singing at sea; Odysseus put's wax in his mens ears, and listens to the Sirens himself.
O Brother, where art thou- Women (Sirens) Singing at the River. Everett, Pete, and Delmar all go to the Sirens. Meet a blind man Odysseus- going back to Ithaca after the Trojan war
Everett- Breaking out of jail to see his family and (ex) wife because she is getting remarried. Meet a Cyclops The Odyssey- Odysseus and his crew meet Polyphemus, a cyclops living on an island with his brothers.
O Brother, where art thou-Everett and his friends meet Big Dan Teague, a ("cyclops") Huge man who can only see out of one eye. Hero's are men In The Odyssey the hero is Odysseus.
In O Brother, Where Art Thou the hero is Everett The Odyssey- Odysseus' crew is turned into animals by the evil witch Circe.
O Brother, Where Art Thou- Pete get's "turned" into a frog. face distractions The Odyssey- Odysseus stays with Circe for 10 years, and Calypso for 6 years. Scylla and Charbdis destroy his boat and take his men.
O Brother Where Art Thou- The cops are after them, Everett's wife is going to marry another man, the sirens lure them in, the KKK tries to kill Tommy. Hero's face an additional challenge after returning home. The Odyssey- Odysseus has to get rid of all the suitors in his palace.
O Brother where art thou- Everett has to go to his house to get his wife's wedding ring. Have the same story line The Odyssey- A man taken from his family journey's back to them, facing many distractions, and finally returning home only to face another challenge before finding peace.
O brother where art thou- A man taken from his family journeys back to them and finds peace after completing a final challenge. Both think they can do everything without any ones help The odyssey- Odysseus thinks he doesn't need the god's help
O Brother Where Art Thou- Everett doesn't want Pete or Delmar's help. The odyssey is set in ancient Greece.

No one dies in O Brother Where Art Thou. Crew Odysseus has an Army for a crew.
Everett has two people he met in jail and a random guy they picked up on the road. Characters The odyssey has god's and goddesses in it.
O Brother where art thou has normal people. Enemies Odysseus' enemies are gods, goddesses, and suitors.
Everett's enemies are the police. Every hero goes on a journey. Our hero's both journey for long periods of time. The hero's journey is a quest that a hero must overcome to be a hero.
