TRIGONOMETRY IN SPORTS
Many sports involve trigonometry. Almost in every sport, for example, basketball, to score the perfect free throw, trigonometry is used to get to correct angle; In golf, to get pot the ball; In rugby, to score a goal.

Let us see how trigonometry is used in these sports.
1. TRIGONOMETRY IN BASKETBALL
Many researchers did multiple calculations on this subject.
The ball has the highest percentage of going in the basket at an arc rather than over hand and straight.
Physics professor Peter Brancazio established the optimum angle for the shot is 45 degrees.
This angle may vary on height of the player since if a taller player goes to the line compared with a shorter, the ideal angle will change.
2. TRIGONOMETRY IN GOLF
Golf involves trigonometry as the golfer needs to determine a specific angle to which he will hit the ball in order for it to reach its final destination.

3. TRIGONOMETRY IN RUGBY
In rugby, the player must hit the ball at a certain angle to get the ball to travel a greater distance, at which the path of the ball can me modeled by a parabola.

To give the kicker an adavantage on the conversion, a player crossing the goal line often attempts to run toward the centre of the field before downing the ball.
So we see how trigonometry is useful in our lives, even in sports. Ofcourse, we cannot exactly measure the angles and do the calculations during the game, but appropriate estimation will also do.
