Maricedes Acosta-Martinez and Anne M. Etgen
Hormones and Behaviour 41, 88-100 (2002)
Title Purpose To investigate at which brain site(s) activation of µ-opioid receptors (µ-ORs) affects lordosis behaviour in hormone-primed female rats.

In addition, to elucidate whether µ-OR activation tonically suppresses female rat sexual behaviour.
Lordosis This is the female rat mating posture

When receptive; she freezes, arches her back downwards, pushes her rump upwards and moves her tail to one side Estrogen and Progesterone Ovariectomized
Estradiol benzoate (E2B) administered 2 days prior to testing
Progesterone 4-4.5 hours prior to testing
Result??
