Transcript of Roman Fever
The protagonists of the story are two middle-aged women who are in Rome with their daughters: Barbara Ansley and Jenny Slade.
the elder women grew up in Manhattan, and were friends since childhood.
Mrs. Slade reveals a secret about a letter written to Mrs. Ansley on a visit to Rome many years ago. The letter was, in fact, written by Mrs. Slade in an attempt to get Mrs.Ansley out of the way of the engagement between Mrs. Slade and Delphin.
What Mrs. Slade does not know is that Mrs. Ansley replied to her letter and Delphin and she met that day. Also , Mrs. Ansey got pregnat and had Barbara, her daughter.
Introduction: The author presents the main characters, and the setting.
Complicating Action: Mrs. Slade tells Mrs. Ansley what she knows about her late-night excursion to the Colosseum twenty-five years ago.
Climax: Mrs. Ansley tells her friend that her daughter Barbara is actually Mrs. Ansley and Delphin´s daughter.
Resolution: The resolution and climax are simultaneous in the short story.
PLACE: Rome, at a restaurant terrace with the view of ancient ruins such as the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill, and the Forum.
TIME: afternoon, 1900s.
It is a short stories written in 1934 and whose characters are Mrs. Alida Slade, adn Mrs. Grace Ansley. It is situated in Rome, near the Colloseum, the Forum and the Palatine Hill. The protagonists are spending their afternoon at a restaurant.
