“I look at the ball, I look at the net and I say to myself, 'Take the kick, Ronaldo,' then I shoot.”

At the age of 8 Ronaldo played for amateur team Andorihna, where his father was the kit man.
Cristiano studied at Escola Sao Joao at the same time he played for Andorihna.
"He would always find a way of playing football in the playground. If there wasn't a real football around - and often there wasn't - he would make one out of socks."
By 1995, Ronaldo was an outstanding talent and moved to Nacional, one of Madeira's top teams.
After winning the title he went on a three day trial with Sporting CP in Lisbon who subsequently signed him.
He became the only player ever to play for Sporting's under 16, under 17, under 18, B-team and first team all within one season.
In the one and only season he played, he captained the side to the under 12 regional youth championship for the first time in the club's history.
Ronaldo became Machester United's first ever Portuguese player when he signed for £12.24 million after the 2002-03 season.

He trained at the club's football academy in Alocochete on the southern outskirts of Lisbon for six years before he played his first full 90 minutes in October 2002, where he scored two goals in a 3-0 win against Moreirense.
Ronaldo was only 12 years old when he had to move away from his family home in Madeira.
In the summer of 2003 he came to the attention of Alex Ferguson, when Sporting defeated Manchester United 3-1 in a friendly match.
He requested the number 28 (his number at Sporting), as he did not want the pressure of living up to the expectation linked to the number 7 shirt, which had previously been worn by players such as George Best and David Beckham. But Feguson said "No, You're going to have number 7" and Cristiano was forced to live up to such an honour.
Ronaldo won 7 major team trophies at Manchester United, 3 Premier Leagues, 1 FA Cup, 2 League Cups and 1 Champions League
In his final appearance at Old Trafford, Ronaldo received his third championship medal after the Reds sealed the title with a point against Arsenal. United announced Cristiano had "expressed his desire to leave" and that Real Madrid's offer had been accepted. Less than three weeks later, the transfer was concluded.
Germany 4-0 Portugal
USA 2-2 Portugal
Portugal 2-1 Ghana
Portugal’s first-round World Cup elimination was partly due to Cristiano Ronaldo’s injured knee.
The injury he carried into the 2014 World is expected to now keep him out for at least two months.
Cristiano Ronaldo Junior
In January 2013, Ronaldo became Save the Children's new Global Artist Ambassador, in which he hopes to help fight child hunger and obesity.
In November 2012, Ronaldo sold the golden boot he had won in 2011 for €1.5 million and gave the money to fund schools for children in Gaza.
In 2009, Ronaldo donated £100,000 to the hospital that saved his mother's life in Madeira following her battle with cancer, so that they could build a cancer centre in his native island Madeira.
Ronaldo has scored 252 goals in 246 games for Real Madid in the 5 seasons he has been there.
He is #4 on the list of all time goalscorers, 71 goals behind #1 Raul who scored 323 goals in 741 games.
In the 2013/14 season Ronaldo won the coverted Fifa Ballon D'Or 2013 and also picked a Champions League winners medal.
"I have nothing but praise for the boy. He is easily the best player in the world. His contribution as a goal threat is unbelievable. His stats are incredible. Strikes at goal, attempts on goal, raids into the penalty box, headers. It is all there. Absolutely astounding."
— Alex Ferguson, after Ronaldo's transfer to Real Madrid
Since he arrived at the Bernabéu, his goalscoring figures have just kept on improving to the delight of Madrid fans. He is now firmly established as one of the leading goalscorers in the history of the club.
