Chapter 7 Part 1
Chapter 6
As Christian and Faithful continue on their journey, they encounter Mr. By-Ends, who tries to get them to agree with everything and not cause trouble. They ignore him and continue on their journey. They arrive at a river oasis where they rest and are revived. Next, Christian and Faithful take a shortcut through a meadow, but since this is not on the path, they arrive at the Giants' Lair. Giant Despair puts them into a dungeon. The giants want them to give up and commit

Christian and Faithful Visit Vanity Fair
Chapter 7 Part 2
The Final Trials of Christian and Hopeful
Christian and Hopeful continue on their journey. They arrive at a crossroads, and a man approaches them. He tricks Christian and Hopeful into following him. He then reveals himself as the Deceiver and captures them in a net. As Christian and Hopeful are sitting, trapped, in the net, they are rescued by a Shining One. They keep following the path and meet Atheist who wants them to give up because he couldn't find the Celestial City. Christian and Hopeful resist this temptation and continue, but almost fall asleep on the Enchanted Ground. They turn and run at the last minute. Christian and Hopeful's next stop is the Country of Beulah, which is nicer than the Delectable mountains, with exotic fruits and melons. One bite of this fruit revives them, and they move on. They next arrive at the River of Death, which judges how faithful in God you are. If you are not faithful enough, the river will swallow you up. Christian almost sinks, but Hopeful reminds him that God is with them. After passing through the River of Death, they arrive at the Celestial City, where Faithful greets them, and they all sing praises to God.
Pilgrim's Progress Chapters 5-7
Christian and Faithful cause a riot in Vanity Fair by not buying anything and only wanting the truth. The citizens demand that they are taken to the burgomeister's house, where they get put in a cage. Even though Christian and Faithful are in a cage, they cause even more riots because most citizens want them killed. This leads to a court case and Faithful is voted by the jury to be guilty and is dragged off. Christian gets put in jail, but a good-hearted youth named Hopeful breaks him out and takes the
place of Faithful as Christian's new companion. Christian and Hopeful escape the village in the night and proceed on their journey on the hard but right way to the Celestial City.

Biblical Truths From Pilgrim's Progress
Chapter 5
Chapter 6 reminds us of the Biblical Truth that God will provide for us. We need to remember that whatever happens is His will, and part of His grand plan for the benefit of the world. (Jeremiah 29:11) We also need to remember not to despair, God will always come through.
suicide because of their despair. Giantess Diffidence gives them poison, a knife, and a rope, which they can use to kill themselves. Christian and Hopeful read their scrolls and receive keys that allow them to narrowly escape!
Christian and Hopeful continue on their journey and end up at the Delectable Mountains. They meet shepherds Knowledge, Experience, and Watchful. The shepherds show the travelers the Cliff of Error and see a pile of bones from those who fell into the deceiver's traps. The next day, they continue on their journey and meet Ignorance who thinks that any path will lead to the Celestial City. As Ignorance ignorantly continues on the path, he is captured by a demon company.
Thank you for watching/listening to our story!
In Chapter 5, we are reminded to resist temptation. We should not give into things for superficial or material reasons, even if many people are pressuring us into doing this. We should always seek the truth, and make sure we do not fall into a net of lies.
Chapter 6
Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
Chapter 7 Part 1
In Chapter 7, we are reminded to not be deceived. We need to take heed of other people's warnings, and learn from their mistakes. We are also reminded that we need to
Chapter 5
Even if someone wants us to "compare answers" with them, we can resist the temptation and tell them that we don't want to cheat. Even if there are people pressuring you to break the rules, we need to stand firm in our beliefs to be fair. If we suspect someone's lying, we need to not just take it as fact, but question it and test it. We can do the same with the Bible and take an example from the Bereans.
Acts 17:11

God will provide for us, so we can memorize Bible verses, so when a hard time comes, we can remember these verses and be comforted. When we are sad, think of all the things God has done for us, like giving us fun friends, or other blessings that make us happy. We can also remember the comforting Bible verses that we memorized.

Deception comes in all shapes and sizes and most are not obvious. However, if we study God's word and learn more about the truth, we will find it easier to know what is false. People training to recognize counterfeit money don't spend time studying the false money, they study real money so they know when something is false. Likewise, we can study the Truth so we can know when something is false or pretending to be God.

get a strong foundation in the Truth so that we can stand strong against temptation.
