Prose Constructed Response
The rivalry between greasers and Socs drives the action of the novel. Develop a prose constructed response to address the following prompt:

Compare and contrast the lives of the greasers and the Socs. Is it possible for these two groups to end their rivalry?

Please be sure to address the following points in your response:
Describe and analyze differences between the greasers and Socs.
Describe and analyze similarities between the greasers and Socs.
Explain, using evidence from the text, whether or not it is possible for the greasers and the Socs to end their rivalry.

Introduction
In the novel
The Outsiders
by S.E. Hinton, the rivalry between the Socs and the greasers drives the action of the novel and leads to many conflicts.
Within the story, the terms "Soc" and "greaser" are used to describe the different gangs of teenagers living on opposite sides of the city.

These two gangs have multiple differences and even some similarities. These two groups have/do not have the possibility to end their rivalry.
- Describe and analyze differences between the greasers and Socs.
The greasers and the Socs have multiple differences.

The most important difference between the two groups has to do with the values that each group considers important.

For example, the greasers value... This can be seen in the story when...
