-Construction began in 1950
-Trains began to lose importance
Trans-Canada Pipeline
-Construction began in 1956
-Natural reserves in Alberta
-Transport gas cheaply
Construction of highway
Ports include:
-Thunder Bay
-Hamilton Port
-Port of Marathon
-Oakville Harbour
-Port Credit
-Port of Toronto
