Math Vocabulary
Multiples
The definition of multiples is like a group of numbers that are counted.
Fractions
The definition of fraction is part of a whole.
Numerator
The definition of numerator is the top number in a fraction that tells how many pieces you have picked out.
Factors
The definition of factor is the numbers that your using to multiply to find an answer.

For example: If you take two numbers like 10 and 4 that5 means you take 4 pieces out of 10.
Denominator
The definition of denominator is to be under the Numerator.
For example: when you take 4/9 4 is the numerator
For example: In 4/9 9 is the denominator
For example: 2 4 6 8 10 and 12 are multiples of 2
For example: In the problem 3x4=12, 3 and 4 are the factors.
Line Of Symmetry
The Definition of line of symmetry is a shape that is broken into a half.
For example: if i take a square ill put a line through it.
Divisor
Definition: The number that is going to be divided from the big number to get your answer.
For example: In 24÷6=4, 6 is the divisor.
Dividend
Definition: The first number in a division problem which is the big one that you divide the small number out of.
For example: In 36÷6=6, the 36 is the dividend.
Quotient
Definition: The answer of a division problem.
For example: in 100÷10=10, 10, "the answer" is the quotient
Prime Number
Definition: A prime number can only be divided by one or itself. It must be greater than 1.
For example: If you take the number 51 it can only be divided by 1 or 51.
Composite Number
Definition: A number that can be divided evenly by numbers other than one or itself.
For example: If nine can be divided by 3 its a composite number but the three is a prime number.
