Double click anywhere & add an idea The moon is the largest moon in the solar system. The moon is the brightest object in space in the night. Beetween 1968 and 1972 9 space craft voyaged to the moon. More than 220,000 miles away the moon takes about 27 to 30 days to orbit earth. The most familiar named moon,harvest moon revers to the the moon's bright appearce and early rise ,which lets farmers continue harvesting into the night. The moon appears to be the same size as the sun,though the sun is 400 times more distant. The moon is about 4.6 billion years old. Surveyor 1 was the first U.S spacecraft to land safely on the moon. Lunar Orbit 5 was the last of the Lunar Orbit series. The moon slowly moving away from Earth. On July 20,1969 the U.S Apollo 11 lunar module landed on the moon in the first of 6 Apollo landings. Neil A. Armstrong became the first human being to step foot on the moon. Buzz Aldrin was the second person to set foot on the moon .
