He held a sickle in one hand and wheat in the other. Saturn is the root of the english word saturday. Who discovered Saturn? Galilao was the first person to observe the planet with his telescope in 1610. He noted the apearence but was quite confused by it.

Saturn was first visited by NASA's pioneer 11 in 1979
