Public Speaking: American's No.2 Fear?
In this class, you will...
learn to effectively communicate for a variety of situations
overcome your fear of public speaking
learn ways to listen well
gain soft skills that will make you more employable
It will require...
a lot of your participation in class activities
willingness to leave your comfort zone (grow a thick skin)
suspending being too critical of yourself, and others
lots of support and encouragement towards your classmates
working with your group members
You will be
participating in a lot of in-class impromptu speeches
giving your classmates feedback on their speeches, while receiving feedback for you own
video-recording an informative speech
giving a persuasive speech in class
writing reflective journals on your speeches
conducting a workshop (group project)
