Transcript of Leadership
What is Leadership
What Personality does a leader have?
Why are leaders important?
Leadership is the action of leading a group of people or an organization.
Examples of Female Leaders
Examples of Male Leaders
When a leader is confident, it makes it easier to trust that leader, and people want to work with leaders they trust.
A leader has to have a positive attitude because if they don't, the whole group is going to be unhappy and people like to work with leaders with a positive attitude!
Keeps the group in control
Leaders are important because if there isn't a leader, the group/team will be out of control.
Reaches goals faster
What is Leadership?
Honesty may be seen as openness-your willingness to say what you’re thinking or feeling, even when it is uncomfortable.
Honesty may be seen as a willingness to listen and discuss issues before the data is completely thought through, when available alternatives are not fully confirmed, and when decisions are not yet final. It may also be seen as keeping your word, following through on promises, and delivering on time.
If a group doesn't have a leader, the group won't reach their goal but with a leader, you could reach your goal without a lot of problems.
How did Mother Teresa become a leader?
What did Malala do to become a leader?
A role model is someone who kids and adults want to be like. A good role model is someone who stands up for what he or she believes in and they lead by example!
What Did Gandhi Do?
Gandhi led India's independence movement in the 1930s and 40s by facing down the British with great speeches and non-violent protest. For his troubles, he's named among the 20th century's most important people and remains well liked in India as a father of the nation.
What did Nelson Mandela do?
She was a nun. She helped the poor and the sick. Although she had no money, she opened a school for homeless children.
Here is a quote from Mother Teresa:
"People are often unreasonable and self-centred. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway." --- Mother Teresa
Nelson Mandela was the first black President of South Africa. He spent 27 years in prison for trying to overthrow the government. After he left prison, he worked to achieve human rights and a better future for everyone in South Africa.
Malala stood up for all girls living in Mingora, Pakistan because they were not allowed to go to school. She started to make a blog about what it is like to live in Mingora, Pakistan. One day she went on a bus to go to school and got stopped by members of a Taliban gang because they were not happy about her breaking the rules and they shot in her head and luckily she survived.
