In the chapters 10-12 in the book mocking birds are seen as innocent and sacred.

In chapters 10 - 12 Scout seems very frustrated that she isn't being treated like a mature adult.
The story takes place during the great depression which was a testing time.

In the chapters discussed we see Atticus
Trying to change the racist mindset of
Racism played a major role in these chapters. It was being used literally and figuratively multiple time during the chapters.
