A vignette is a short DESCRIPTIVE literary work (750 words or less) that focuses on a specific event, incident, or scene
Should be a Memoir
Non-Fiction = REAL (REALLY HAPPENED TO YOU IN YOUR LIFE)

Paragraph 1: Describe hardship
Paragraph 2: What do people tell you about coping with it?
Paragraph 3: How does the hardship make you feel?
Paragraph 4: What hope or solution people offer you that doesn't really help?
Paragraph 5: Describe the event that shows how YOU cope or deal with the hardship. (USE LOTS OF DETAILS)
Paragraph 6, 7, 8: Continue to describe the event. Use DIALOGUE with "quotations."
Paragraph 9: Here you should have a tone shift. Explain how you are preparing or the future
Paragraph 10: What is your final action so far in the event
