What is the Goal?
Solar Energy tries to emulate a process that has created energy for millions of years.....

Photosynthesis uses CO2 and H20 to create Glucose and 02, but in the process, it creates energy such as ATP, NADPH, ADP, and NADP+. The objective of Solar energy is to get energy like these biochemicals and use it as electricity.

However, to harness Solar Energy in a way that applies a practical use for humans, we have to use a slightly different method

-Photovolactic Cells make use of the element Silicon to create energy.
-Silicon has 4 valence shell electrons that want to become stable.
-When the panel is heated by the sunlight it causes free carriers, to break free from the atoms
-Silicon becomes separated into two types: N and P
An electric field forms, and N-type and P-type silicons are attracted to each other, but are regulated by a diode
-This diode is a type of barrier, that allows electrons to flow from the P side to the N side. This creates current and voltage, all that is needed for electrical power
-Light has many different wavelengths
-Solar Panels can't absorb every wavelength
-To get an optimal amount of light and voltage, the energy required to break an electron free is set too 1.4 eV
This allows a cell to save energy without compromising voltage
- an eV is an electron volt, which is 1.60217657 × 10^-19 joules
-Photovoltaic Cells can either exist on and off the grid
-One must comply with community laws
- In a house circuit, there is a charge controller that regulates the current flowing into the house.

The Last Step: Localized Energy
Localized energy production presents a broader goal, and a hopeful outcome of Solar Energy
-Would remove transportation, and only provide energy when it is needed.
