Responsibilities (P1)
Legal Obligations - A duty or commitment that you are legally bound to do. this might because or a contract, morals or the law.
Professional Conduct - The manner in which a person behaves, especially in a particular place or situation. if you are a professional a high standard is expected.
Health and Safety - Making sure that no injury or illness occurs causing a problem.
Knowledge of Coaching environment - Having up-to-date methods and techniques that work.
Responsibilities (M1)
Legal Obligations - Ben Ainslie's legal obligations are to keep himself safe by following the rules when sailing normally and when in events as if he didn't follow the rules he could cause someone to crash when they are calling for water at the mark.
Professional Conduct - Ben Ainslie's Professional Conduct is very good as everyone knows his name and straight away think of him winning 4 gold medals at the Olympics.
Health and Safety - Ben Ainslie has to be all health and safety with the sport he does, as when sailing so many things can happen, like he can fall off and drown, get hypothermia or he can float off without there being a a safety boat. To counter these problems he wears the best wetsuits, and the best life jacket, with a spray top over the top to stop anything hanging out and distracting him, when he goes sailing he will make sure there is always a safety boat out there with him just in case he does fall off.
Knowledge of Coaching Environment - Ben Ainslie has to have a good knowledge of his coaching environment as if he doesn't have a good knownledge of his environment he could end up really injuring himself or could end up dieing. Ben Ainslie would counter this by learning about the environment he is sailing in by researching on the internet and also asking local sailors or fishermen.
Responsibilities (M1)
Legal Obligations - Toni Minichiello obligations is to train Jessica Ennis with all his knowledge so that he can get Jessica Ennis to achieve her best. Toni Minichiello does this by sticking to his coaching contract as if Jessica Ennis performs bad its his Responsibility to train her and achieve better next time.
Professional Conduct - Toni Minichiello is a good role model to Jessica Ennis as when she either performs bad or she just needs the little bit extra power in her jump he always keeps his cool and finds a reason why she is doing bad or how to jump that little bit further.
Health and Safety - Toni Minichiello has good sense of health and safety as he always makes sure that all the equipment he uses when in training are up to a good stand and pass all the checks, he always makes sure that Jessica Ennis is fully warmed up so she has a much lesser chance of getting an injury.
Knowledge of Coaching Environment - Toni Minichiello has a good ability to change up the playing field as he has a lot of new methods and new techniques, all ready for Jessica Ennis to try learn. Toni Minichiello gets these techniques into Jessica Ennis head with all the training they do also being able to perfect the technique.
Responsibilities (M1)
Legal Obligations - David Brailsford legal obligation is to coach the Team GB cyclists and team sky cyclists, as his contract with say that he has to make sure they perform to their best when competing and when training they will try to perform to reach new personal bests. David Brailsford also makes sure that his athletes don't make a fool out of themselves when on nights out.
Professional Conduct - David Brailsford is a good role model as his was famous for being a top level cyclist. David Brailsford uses this knowledge to his advantage as he will know a lot of methods and techniques he learned over the year.
Health and Safety - David Braislford has a good sense of health and safety as he doesn't want any of his athletes injured before or during events, David Brailsford does this by doing safety checks on all the equipment and making sure they wear the correct uniform for the event just in case they fall of and hit their head on the floor they wont crack their skull or cause a serious injury.
Knowledge of coaching Environment - David Brailsford knows a lot of methods and new techniques so when they the team need to try get back into a winning position Daivd Brailsford will be able to use some of his methods that his team like's and know how to perform them as his methods are at top level as he use to be a cyclist himself.
Skills (P2)
Communication - The ability to be able to get a message across with a variety of different ways, (verbal, non-verbal, hand signals and body language.)
Organisation - The ability to plan ahead and be ready for the future.
Problem Solving - The ability to finding solutions to difficult tasks and complex issues.
Communication -
Ben Ainslie needs to have good communication when sailing as once he has finished a race he will have to speak to his coach through a variety of different ways, verbal, non-verbal and hand signals as ben wont be able to get up next to the coaches boat in time before the next race starts.
Organisation -
Ben Ainslie has to be organised when sailing as if ropes on the boat weren't organized he could get mixed up with which rope he had to pull at a certain time. Ben Ainslie will stop this from happening as once he has the boat set up he would put all the useless rope in pockets on the boat.
Problem Solving -
Ben Ainslie has a good ability to solve a problem when it occurs when sailing, as he has won the olympic gold medal 4 times in a row now and in 2012 he almost didn't win the gold medal as he had a really bad day but he went away and thought on what he had to do and how he could achieve getting the positions to win the gold medal.
Skills (M2)
Skills (M2)
Communication -
Toni Minichiello's communication is very good as he is able to communicated with Jessica Ennis through a variety of signals, verbal, non-verbal and body language. An example where Toni Minichiello uses his communication skills is when Jessica Ennis is performing in the olympics and Toni Minichiello would speaking to Jessica Ennis after every long jump to tell her how she can improve and get further.
Organisation -
Toni Minichiello Organisation is very good as when he is training with Jessica Ennis he always has a back up play and organizing training around special events that Jessica Ennis has to go to or act in as she has lately done that Barclay's advert.
Problem Solving -
Toni Minchiello ability to solve problems is really good as he is able to talk to Jessica Ennis on how she can run that bit faster, jump that bit higher and perfecting her technique, but Toni Minichiello is able to tell Jessica Ennis what she is doing wrong when she does something wrong and how to can stop messing up and get it right the next time.
Skills (M1)
Communication -
David Brailsford communication is really good as he can communicate in many ways to his athletes as he will have to be verbal for them to hear him when racing and also he will have to use hand-signals too to get their attention.
Organisation -
David Brailsford will have good organisation as he collects all the information on how they can improve the teams racing and then he will give the plans out to certain team members to go away and improve the bike and other equipment.
Problem solving -
David Brailsford is a good problem solver as he prepares for the worst as when he is coaching team Sky he makes sure that the teams van follows their athletes around with spare bikes just in case one breaks.

Roles (D1)
Innovator -
Ben Ainslie, Toni Minichello and David Brailsford are all good innovators as they all can pull of new methods on how to improve or get the best out of a light situation. They all will be able to say what needs to be done but i think Ben Ainslie is the best innovator as he he knows what he can do so he will be able to judge what he can do as he knows if he needs to train harder or not.
Friend -
Ben Ainslie, Toni Minichello and David Brailsford are all good friends to their athletes and fellow competitors as if people like them then it will benefit them as it makes them a more approachable person when someone has a problem that they need asking. I think David Brailsford is the best as he has to coach more people and if one of his athletes do have a problem with him he will improve there relationship so it will benefit both of them.
manager -
Ben Ainslie, Toni Minichello and Daivd Brailsford are all good managers as they're in control of all their athletes as they manger them to achieve their best when their athletes compete. i think David Brailsford is the best manager as he will have a whole team to coach and sort of the equipment for, unlike Minichiello has to manage Jessica Ennis and Ben Ainslie only has to manage himself.
Educator -
Ben Ainslie, Toni Minichello and David Brailsford are all good educators as they all have the ability to find new techniques and new tactics that help them achieve medals and world titles. i think Ben Ainslie is the best educator as a lot of people will be asking him questions on how to improve as they may only see him for five minutes so he will have to give good a detailed advice in a short period of time.
Innovator -
Ben Ainslie's innovator is all to do with tactics and the way he sails but Toni Minichello is all about training methods and diet 'n' nutrient but unlike David Brailsford he doesn't focuse on one particular thing he looks at small improvements in everything to have a big improvements overall.
Friend -
Toni Minichello and David Brailsford are more friendly with their competitors then Ben Ainslie is as Ben Ainslies gets mad at his competitors as they play mind games with him making him think he hit a buoy when he hasn't.
Manager -
Toni Minichello and David Brialsford are a people who actually coach their athletes unlike Ben Ainslies who is more of a person who other athletes look up to him and ask him about problems they might but havings.
Educator -
Daivd Brailsford educates himself with all the improvements that he does by himself as he does everything by himself as David Brailsford just gives instructions on what the athletes need to do but Ben Ainslie will be more of an advise giver as he could just sit down after training and someone could come up to him and say their problem and Ben Ainslie will just give advise on how to solve the problem, but Toni Minichello is more in the middle of both Daivd Brialsford and Ben Ainslie as he does both telling Jessica Ennis what to do and also giving her advise on how she can improve.

Responsibilities (D1)

Legal Obligations -
Ben Ainslie, Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford all follow their legal obligations as they take on the responsibilities that come with it as they keep their athletes in order and get them to perform as they would be expected to perform. I think David Brailsford is the best at legal obligations as he has more people to make sure that he follows up on his contract on unlike Minichiello and Ben Ainslie who are only responsible for one person. Also David Brailsford needs to know that none of his team are on drugs as a lot of cyclists die from taking performance enhancing drugs.
Professional Conduct -
Ben Ainslie, Toni Minichello and David Brailsford Professional conduct are all good as they all act like a role model to other people and lots of people will look up to them as Ben Ainslie has other sailors that look up to him for advice, Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford have their athletes that look up to them as they need each of them to look up to for training methods and new tactics when they are needed. I think Ben Ainslie is the best for professional conduct as he will have a lot more people/ fellow athletes looking to him for advice and as a role model because he has so many people looking up to him he needs to behave perfectly..
Health and Safety -
Ben Ainslie, Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford are always checking their equipment, that the clothing is the right type and also that they are protective/ have life insurance and that all the appropriators are up to check with the condition of them all so no one can get injured. I think David Brailsford is the best for health and safety as he has to make sure that all the bikes and other equipment are the best as he doesn't want one of his athletes getting injured, for example if a wheel came off or the breaks failed they could have a high speed crash.
Knowledge of Coaching Environment -
Ben Ainslie, Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford all have new up-to-date methods and tactics as they are all successful in getting themselves or their athletes to win competitions and the olympics. I think Ben Ainslie is the best for having up-to-date methods and new tactics as when sailing you can't just plan what you are going to do before going out there, as its all to do with thinking on the sport and judging where the wind is coming from, he has got all this knowledge from winning previous gold medals and winning a lot of competitions.
Legal Obligations -
The Difference between Toni Minichiello and Daivd Brailsford to Ben Ainslie is that Toni Minichello and David Brailsford actually coach other athletes as they are their responsibilities and don't compete in the events themselves, but Ben Ainslie actually competes in events so he has responsibilities that applies to him only as he is in charge of his performance.
Professional Conduct -
Out of the three sport coaches Ben Ainslie is the best role model as he is still competing in the olympics and other events but unlike Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford are not competing in and competitions anymore so Ben Ainslie is the best role model out of the three.
Health and Safety -
Ben Ainslie is responsible for his health and safety as his sport demands it the most and its the most dangerous, David Brailsford is then responsible for his inployees and himself to make sure that none of the equipment fail and cause harm to the athletes, but Toni Minichiello doesn't really have to do a lot because all he needs to make sure is that Jessica Ennis doesn't take drugs and that she doesn't over-load when training.
Knowledge of Coaching Environment -
Ben Ainslie has to think about tactics for himself as he is the one competing but David Brailsford and Toni Minichiello have to think of new methods and tactics for their athletes and make sure that they benefit the team/athletes.

Skills (D1)
Techniques (P3)
Fitness Assessment -
Fitness self-assessment designed to check how close you are to meeting recommended physical activity levels.
Goal Setting -
Goal setting involves establishing specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-targeted (S.M.A.R.T ) goals.
Effective Demonstration -
Being able to demonstrate something in the simplest way, allowing people to see how its meant to be done.
Communication -
Ben Ainsle, Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford communication skills are really good as they can all use different styles, e.g. verbal, non-verbal, hand signals and body language as they all need to use some of these styles when they are or when their athletes are competing as sometimes they can't just talk with them as they are in the middle of the event. I think David Brailsford is the best at communication as with him coaching two teams he will come across people with different languages so he may have to use a different type of communication as the might not speak English.
Organisation -
Ben Ainslie, Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford have the ability to plan ahead for when things go wrong and don't go to plan or one of their athletes get injured. I think Ben Ainslie is the best organiser as will have to plan ahead all the time when sailing as the wind isn't reliable as there could be patches of wind all over.
Problem Solving -
Ben Ainslie, Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford are all able to solve any problem when a problem occurs, as Ben Ainslie will be able to think of a new tactic to try get in front of someone. Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford have the problem of if the equipment brake or something isn't going to plan they are able to sit back and analyze the situation to find out what is the problem and talk to their athletes about what is going wrong and how they are able to improve and get back to be competitors. I think Ben Ainslie is the best problem solver as if he get into a situation where he hits the windward mark in first place he will have to get out the way off others and perform a 360 turn and then try get back into first place.
Communication -
Ben Ainslie has to communicate to his coach when sailing with verbal and hand signals at the same time as he will find it hard to stay in one places as the tides will pull him away. Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford are able to speak to their athletes face to face when they aren't competing but when they are competing only Toni Minichiello is able to communicate with Jessica Ennis as she will come up to him and ask him how she can improve.
Organisation -
Ben Ainslie and David Brailsford Organisation is very similar as they both make sure that everything is all in the right order and that all the equipment is correct and up to standard, alo that their athletes or themselves are in the correct place at the right time and date. But Toni Minichiello doesn't have to organise as much as the other two sports leaders as he only have one athlete to look after so there is less equipment and less orgnisation needed as he is only training the one athlete.
Problem Solving -
Ben Ainslie and David brailsford problem solving is at a higher standard to Toni Minichiello as they Ben Ainslie and David Brailsford have/still competing at the high stand so they know what needs to be done more when themselves or their athletes need a bit of help to move up in positions. but with Toni Minichiello not being a former athlete he doesn't have the inside knowledge of knowing where Jessica Ennis can improve in a massive jump with the little things, because all he knows is good techniques and a lot of training to perfect the techniques.
Techniques (D2)
Fitness Assessment -
All three coaches i have talked about need to have a good fitness assessment as they will make sure that all their athletes and themselves are fit and healthy so they are able to compete for longer and withstand a longer period of time. Ben Ainslie is different to Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford as Ben Ainslie has to train himself and worry about his own fitness as he is in charge of himself but as Toni and David they have to assess other athletes so they are responsible for others and themselves but Ben is responsible for himself and no one else. One thing all three coaches have in common are that they are all good at doing fitness assessment as they all have athletes that are competing at the highest level. I think that all three coaches are good at fitness assessment as they know what they are looking for and they want their athletes to achieve their best. Minichiello and Brailsford will have to assess a lot of athletes unlike Ben Ainslie as he is assessing himself so he knows is he is feeling up to training and if he doesn't win he will blame himself but Minichiello and Brailsford athletes could blame them for not winning or getting a personal best. i think Ben Ainslie is the best for fitness assessmnet
Goal Setting - A
ll the three coaches i have talked about have good goal settings when training their athletes and themselves, as they gradually build them up to reach their maximum performance. Ben Ainslie is different to Toni Minichiello and David Brailsford in goal setting as he is setting goals for himself that will benefit him and only him but as Toni and David they have to set Goals for their athletes. I think that they all are good at goal setting as they all have athletes achieve their personal bests when competing and training.
Effective Demonstration -
The three coaches i have talked about only two will have an effective demonstration as they will have to show their athletes the technique perfectly so their athletes learn the technique the right way. the reason why only Toni and David will have a better effective demonstration is that they will be able to show/ teach the techniques in the best way as they all have athletes with the best techniques and tactics when competing. Ben Ainslie isn't really good at demonstrations as he isn't coaching anyone but he will have other sailing athletes that will come up to him and ask him how they can improve. I think that all three athletes are good at demonstrations but they just have to deal with the demonstration in the different situations.
Techniques (M3)
Fitness Assessment - Ben Ainslie's fitness levels are very high and are reaching the recommended physical level that he needs, as he has a good training program which he is fully committed to and is always pushing himself to reach it his sport demands really high levels of fitness as it a very physical sport. The fitness tests Ben Ainslie will be expected to take when being tested for his fitness level is a cardiovascular test and a 1 rep max test or 1 minute sit up and push up test to test his core strength and his upper body strength.
Goal Setting - Ben Ainslie's goal setting is really good as he will set goals in stages to finally reach his final goal of winning the olympics. I know Ben Ainslie has good goal setting as when he was in the olympics he had to set a goal in the last race to get a result better than 8 to secure that he would win the olympics.
Effective Demonstration - Ben Ainslie will have a good effective demonstration as he will have other sailing athletes from GB coming up to him and asking him how they can perform better and will ask where they are going wrong, Ben Ainslie will give them examples to go away with and work on or if it is something that he can demonstrate he will, e.g. how to pump the sails down wind to allow them to go faster down wind or how to when they are sailing upwind and they are finding hard to keep their speed up he would tell them to just bare off from pinching and once they have picked their speed back up to start pinching again.
Techniques (M3)
Fitness Assessment - David Brailsford self fitness assessment wont be very good as he isn't competing anymore as he is coaching but when he was competing his fitness level would have been at the physical level needed. David Brialsford fitness assessment on his athletes will be very good as he wont let his athletes compete in an important event when their fitness level isn't good enough. David Brailsford will make sure that his athletes are at the required fitness level as he will make them do a series of different tests to make sure they are able to compete.
Goal Setting - David Brailsford goal setting will be very good as he will set the goals for his athletes, he will set them in stages so they gradually build up working through them to reach their final goal which is competing at the highest level. David Brailsford will set goals that will improve his athletes when competing as he will look at where they will be going wrong and tell them that they need to do certain things to improve their performance.
Effective Demonstration - David Brailsford will be really good at demonstrating any techniques or new ideas as he will know what he is talking about as he will have researched about it and he was a former cyclist himself and will know a lot about the sport. David Brailsford will take his athletes to a side to tell them that he has looked at where they are going wrong and how he can improve their tactics or when they need to give that finally burst of energy to try win.
Techniques (M3)
Fitness Assessment - Toni Minichiello's self fitness assessment wont be very good as he isn't an athlete himself but his fitness assessment for Jessica Ennis will be really good as he will make sure that he keeps Jessica Ennis fit and healthy so she can continue competing at the level she is competing at now. Toni Minichiello will make sure that in the build up to the olympics that she doesnt get injured so he will have her doing a lot of yoga to make sure that she doesnt pull a muscle.
Goal Setting - Toni Minichiello will be able to set good, achievable goals for Jessica Ennis as he has coached Jessica Ennis for so many years and she has won a lot of events even with as gold medal at the olympics. Toni Minichiello will have set goals for Jessica Ennis in her weaker events so she can score enough points in the olympics to keep at the top of the table.
Effective Demonstration - Toni Minichiello will have a good and an effective demonstration as when he will be coaching Jessica Ennis he will look for where she is going wrong in her technique and tell her with a demonstration on how she can improve the technique. Toni Minichiello will also take Jessica Ennis aside and talk to her about how well she is doing but she also needs to improve on how she performs sometimes and will tell her that she can improve them with his advise and demonstration. For example at the olympics, when Jessica Ennis was competing in the long jump, she would go to Minichiello and he would tell her where she was going wrong and how to improve it.
