Jonas sees an apple he is throwing
'differently'
(Before story) Jonas and his parents are talking about the Ceremony of Twelve
(pg 11-18) Jonas is selected for being Receiver of memory
(pg 59-64) The first day of the New Year Ceremony; in December
(pg 40-45) Audience 'changed' like the apple
(pg 63) Jonas reads his rule sheet for being Reciever of Memory.
(pg 68) Jonas first visits the Old Receiver and is given the memory of snow.
(pg 72-82) Jonas learns about the 'changing' of the apple and the audience are colors and discusses independent choice with the Giver.
(pg 93-99) Jonas' first experience of real pain. His leg is twisted and his face scraped along jagged rocks.
(pg 108) Jonas finally finds the actual sled at the top of the snow-covered mountain. He rides the sled down the mountain, and the story ends at him hearing music.
(pg 178-179) Jonas leaves the community's farmlands and enters the wilderness, and sees many new sights such as waterfalls and animals.
(pg 170-171) Jonas's father announces that Gabriel would be released first thing at morning of next day. Jonas is then forced to add Gabe to his escape plan.
(pg 164-165) The Giver and Jonas create a plan to bring the memories back to the people. Jonas will leave.
(pg 155-162) Jonas learns about the 'changing' of the apple and the audience are colors and discusses independent choice with the Giver.
(Ch 19 pg. 146-151) The Christmas memory, the Giver's favorite memory, was given to Jonas.
