What is Hades' Like
Power and weapons
Hades and his wife
Hades, the brother of Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, Demeter and Hestia, was assigned as the God of the Underworld, the king of death and the dead. He is also the king of the wealth.
The three brothers drew for which part of the world they would rule after the overthrow of their father, Cronus, and Hades unluckily drew the underworld.
Hades' weapon was a two- pronged scepter. He used it to break or shatter things that were in his way.
Hades' power is that he rules the underworld and all in it. He is not the god of death however. That is Thanatos.
Religious people believed that committing evil deeds would result in going to hell. This caused people to avoid committing sinful crimes, leading to everyday punishments. Since nobody wanted to be punished, Hades was feared by many people in both modern society and Greek society.
Hades has little impact on modern society, but many ideas of heaven and hell are traced back to him. Hades is very well known, due to his large role in Greek mythology, but few things are named after him.

Hades is also seen in the Iliad and the Theogony.
Persephone, the daughter of Zeus and Demeter, was the queen of the underworld.
She was kidnapped by Hades while picking flowers in a meadow one day.
She ate 6 pomegranate seeds Hades gave her, and then she became part of the underworld.
She would spend half the year with her mother, the goddess of the harvest.
The underworld was very dark and lonely for Hades, but it became better after he abducted Persephone.
Out of the three powers chosen by Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, being god of the underworld was the least desired and glorified; Hades drew that power unluckily.
For some time when his father Cronus was in power, Hades, along with 4 of his other siblings, except for Zeus, were eaten. Later, Zeus forced Cronus to disgorge his 5 siblings.
