Some types of energy and natural resources that make electricity are oil, coal, wind, water, solar, geothermal, and natural gasses. Water can be used to create electricity by water flowing through a turbine then it spins, making a generator spin to make electricity.Natual gas is a fossil fuel that is burned to produce heat. Oil, coal, and fossil fuels come from dead plants and animals from millions of years ago. They are burned to produce heat. One problem these energy sources creates that fossil fuels pollute the air and can destroy the land and realese greenhouse gasses.

various ways in which electricity can hurt you is...

muscles tighten
lungs constrict
heartbeat is interrupted
blood vessels tighten
burns occur
600BCE In Greece, Thales discovered that amber rubbed with animal attracted light objects
300BCE Huang Ti was going to be the 1st to use a lodestone as a compass
Electricity is made in a power plant then sent through a transformer which increases the voltage which sends it to a substation that lowers the voltage then it enters the building in the service panel in the basement or garage.Electricity comes from renewable and nonrenewable resources and in some places sugar canes
1660 Otto Von Guericke made the 1st electric generating machine . He did it by using a wet string .
Francis Helussbee
moved air from a
glass globe and
rotated it while
rubbing it with a
wool cloth. This
made the globe
give off light.
Coal is dug up and sent on trains and boats.the coal is burned to heat water to make steam Inside the generator the steam spins a big fan called a turbine. The spinning turbine rotates a big magnet around a peice of wire and that motion creates an magnetic field that the wire. The electric current flows through the wire and is pushed out through high voltage wireless
Insulators don't let electricity pass through freely.
Metals like copper have ''free'' electrons that are not bound tightly to their parent atoms. The electrons flow freely throughout the structure of copper and this is what enables an electronic current to flow.
early 1700's
ben franklin did his famous kite experiment
late 1700's and early 1800's
Luigi Galvini found that a dead frog's muscles twitched when put near an electrical machine
Thomas Alva Edison invented the light bulb
Nikola Tesla announced his invention ,the alternating induction motor
The majority of peoe in big cities and towns have electricity in their homes .rural areas do not.
Rural Electric Administration brought electricity to rural areas.
Trees can fall and hit power lines, houses, cars, and people.
power lines can fall and electrocute you
trees can fall on power lines
socket covers
smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
surge protectors
class C fire extinguisher
keep water away from outlets
unplug small appliances when your not using them
use the correct size lightbulbs
check cords for rips and tears
Electricity is a type of energy that can build up in one place to another.
