YOU SHOULD NEVER PAY for Scholarships!!!
Scholarships are awarded based on achievement, need or both. Many scholarships have other requirements — for example, they may only be offered to students who live in a certain state, are interested in a certain major or have a disability.
Save and pay for your education as you go.
Study's show that students who save for college in their own names are 7 X's more likely to graduate.
Always be weary of groups who will charge you for college funding options. They know what they are doing and they do it well, but it is unnecessary and expensive! Everything they offer, we at Ben Lomond offer as well.
Cottages of Hope is a good resource to learn about matching funds for school.
Educational Savings Plans
Subsidized Loans
The federal government pays the interest for direct subsidized loans while the student is in college or while the loan is in deferment.
Unsubsidized Loans
Interest begins accruing as soon as the loan is taken out and the borrower is responsible for it.
Check your College email and e-portals!
Colleges are communicating digitally now...
Once you apply it's not over!
Keep checking on your application, make sure it is connected to the school you are attending!
