People shouldn't be able to keep exotic animals By:Nicole Blance
Period 9 12/11/12 Work Cited Additional photos Escapes, attacks, and other incidents Neglecting or abandoning wild animals. Taking care of exotic animals *Since 1990 more than 1000 escapes, attacks, and other incidents have happened including exotic animals.
*Many times people are careless and leave latched to cages open and their "pets" get out. Sometimes them or family friends can be hurt or killed as a result. *Feeding large cats such as tiger or lions can be very expensive.(Large cats eat more than 50lbs of meat a week.
*If big cats get a taste of human blood they won't stop at anything to get some more. *Sometimes find it too hard or too difficult to take care of these animals so they abandon them to be free which leads to someone getting hurt or the animal being killed. Smith, Natalie. "Wild pets: lions and tigers and bears--oh my! Should wild animals live in our homes?" Scholastic News/Weekly Reader Edition 4 1 Oct. 2012: 4+. General OneFile. Web. 11 Dec. 2012. Big snakes are let go *In Florida many snakes get too big and their owners let them go and then the snakes eat everything(food for native animals or house pets)
*They can also mate with other big snakes and become "mega snakes" and become bigger and go after humans. Chimps become fatal *When people get baby monkeys they think" how cute if i train them right they won't hurt me",they are VERY wrong. Chimps are wild animals and they could turn on someone at any moment. http://www.dispatch.com/content/graphics/2012/08/24/exotic.jpg?__scale=w:620,h:663,t:2 http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/120404105324-exotic-pets-cheetah-horizontal-gallery.jpg http://woostermiddle.stratfordk12.org/images/customer-images//Black_Panther_on_mud_hill.jpg thehayride.com http://www.primates.com/chimps/chimpanzee.jpg http://www.sierraclub.org/habitat/images/grey-wolf.jpg http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQRi4bGf0xt618x9FGX9VaIEegaPZyU1uGAB66bg7nbLBr4w_W7w-STcgdb http://www.bigcat.com/babyBigCatCubs/baby_lion_cub.jpg http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcToa2Bn7hjVLD4MjcYRfcbhSgh6Ndqy6-OesjPIrVVQCgskkBF137yG1lbDlA
