Where is the Robot Used? What is its work Envelope?
MAARS is used anywhere the U.S is fighting and wants it deployed. MAARS was also tested on U.S soil. MAARS can only performed what tasks were programmed on to it as well as its remote control
How could this robot be altered to perform more or different tasks?
This robot could be changed to do lots of things. it could come programmed with simple house controls such as mowing the lawn and help around your house. It could also be attached with multiple arms and a live video feed of a person and become a human like robot. Also, the treads could be replaced with submarine air tanks and become an underwater surveillance robot. Another way this robot could be changed is to flatten out the top and have the robot follow a person and that person could put items on it to carry it for them. There are tons of ways the robot could be altered to do more.
The Impact that this robot had or could have on its intended Audience?
Maars is a military exploration robot. This robot helps the armed forces by doing things that is unsafe for humans, like scoping out an area to see if there are any hidden mines or anything of the sort. This helps the soldiers because it saves lives. It saves lives because before military exploration robots humans had to go and scope out an area, which could end in death. The robot can also be armed lethally and nonlethal and then sent into battle. This robot has a HUGE impact on the armed forces!

The MAARS can be used lethally and non-lethal

create to provide employment for people?
It provides employment for robot specialist. The MAARS does this because for the robot to be made you have to have someone to make it. It also creates employment for people who can work robots well, because in order for you to operate the robot you will need an operator. Also MAARS opens up jobs for programmer’s because in order for the robot to work appropriately you will need it to be programmed properly.
The MAARS has many different types of sensors

such as day and night cameras to perform in both times of the day.
Is the robotic end effector multi-functional? if so, what other tasks can it perform?
the MAARS robot performs tasks in war.
it helps the soldiers by detecting mines hidden in the ground. It could also have an arm and a weapon on it.

its controlled by an operator or somebody else. it cant be taught to go on its own since all terrain is different.
it also has a hostile fire detection system to know if it was being attacked.

Its able to go on a different terrain(s)
Able to detect minds hidden in the ground
Disadvantages
It has to be remotely controlled instead of being able to go on its own
It could malfunction and break in the process
