Transcript of Parts of a computer by Alice Adams

Motherboard

The motherboard controls what the computer does. It controls all the inner components.

CPU
The CPU (central processing unit) is the brain of the computer.
Hard disk
The hard disk stores all your documents and saves them.
RAM
The RAM (Random access memory) stores short term memory. It forgets everything when you turn the computer off.
Graphics card
The graphics card converts what the CPU thinks onto the screen.
Power supply
The power supply takes all the electricity from the socket and turns it into a lower voltage so that the computer can handle it.
