Paris, France By Jennifer Becker Pictures Sites to See Eiffel Tower Louvre Museum Jardin de Luxembourg Gardens Champ Elysees (shopping) Opera Garnier The Eiffel Tower is a world famous structure that stands at 984 feet tall. It was built for the World Exhibition in 1889, and was only meant to last for the duration of the Exposition. However, the tower still stands today, becoming the symbol of Paris. This is one of the largest palaces in the world and used to be the residence of the kings of France. The museum includes universally famous ancient works of art, Greek antiquities, Egyptian antiquities, paintings, and sculptures. The Opera Garnier is regarded as one of the architectural masterpieces of all time. During the constructionof this beautiful opera house, an undergroud lake was discovered beneath the construction. This incident later became the inspiration for "The Phantom of the Opera". The Champs Elysees is known as the world's most beautiful avenue. It's especially beautiful at night when the lights brighten the sky. Hundreds of fashion stores, movie theaters, and restaurants line the avenue, making it entertaining day and night. The Jardin de Luxembourg is called the prettiest formal garden in Paris, France. The garden features statues, fountains, and a pond. Dazzling colors illuminate the garden, making it a perfect place to walk around or maybe have a picnic. Transportation By Plane... By Eurostar... By Boat... By Bus...
