"The Power of ONE"
Transcript of "The Power of ONE"
The title of this presentation is:
"THE POWER OF ONE"
What do you think this means?
“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.”
- Dalai Lama XIV
I had a teacher in school last
year who told our class about a Selfless deed she often did. When she would go in a drive through, she would pay the bill of the person behind her and would then drive off. So, the stranger behind her never saw the person who so generously paid their bill. The lesson of this was, she was doing a good deed without looking for a thank you.
"The Power of One"
so lets talk about this!
1. What did the principal do?
2. How did she help the students?
3. Do you think she made a difference in the students' lives?
Let's take a look at examples
of people who are trying to make a difference...
one bit at a time.
Sometimes making a difference is as simple as...
Lets look at this next video!
Just remember that you are important.
Your actions make a difference.
How do you think children can make a difference in the world?
Lets take a look at examples...
Here's an example of a character in a movie who tried to change the world by coming up with a unique idea for his social studies project.
His social studies project was to come up with an idea for changing the world and to actually do it.
His idea was that if he did three good deeds for three strangers, then, those three people who do three good deeds for three other people and this would become a chain.
Lets take a look at scenes from this movie.
THE END!!!!!!!!! :)

"If you think you’re too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito in the room."
What do you think this quote means?
Is the world perfect as it is right now?
Why or why not?
A Personal Example:
Someone I knew who tried to make a difference...
What do you think about the characters idea?
Do you think it can work?
Remember the story that I told you at the beginning of the presentation about my teacher Anita Nowak?
