Because farce thrives on VISUAL entertainment, it's found in film, drama, and television.

Usually defined by a single trait or display a single pattern of behavior
Where did it come from?
France
What is a farce?
A comedy that revolves around improbable and exaggerated events.
Relies on:
physical comedy
sexual innuendo
absurd situations
Middle Ages
Its purpose was to inject humor into serious situations and provide lighthearted entertainment.
That trait or behavior is then exaggerated for comic effect.
Usually, the action takes place in one setting, which allows the improbable events to multiply with even greater absurdity.
