-The orbit size around the sun for Neptune is 4,498,396,441 km.
-During its orbit it is closest to the sun when it is 4,459,753,056 km away (Perihelion).
-During its orbit around the sun it is farthest away when it is 4,537,039,826 km away (Aphelion).
-It takes about 165 earth years to complete its orbit (length of Neptune's year).
-Its orbit circumference is 28,263,736,967 km around.
-Average orbit velocity is 19,566km/h.
-Orbit inclination 1.77 degrees.
-The radius is 24,622 km.
-The volume of Neptune is 62,525,703,987,421 km^3.
-The mass of Neptune is 1.0241 x 10^26 kg.
-The density of Neptune is 1.638 g/cm^3.
-The surface area of Neptune is 7,618,272,763 km^2
-Neptune's surface gravity is 11.15 m/s^2
-One of Neptune's days is 0.671 Earth days and 16.11 hours

-Neptune has four rings.
-The farthest ring out is called the Adams Ring.
-The Adams Ring is 63,000 km from the center of Neptune.
-Arcs create rings and in the Adams ring there are 3 arcs (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity).
-Neptune's other rings are the Leverrier Ring (there is an extension of this ring called Lassell), the Galle Ring, and the Arago Ring.
-There was suspison about Neptune having rings, but wasn't confirmed until Voyager II in 1989. Atmosphere Neptune's atmosphere is made of hydrogen, helium and methane. It would be impossible for us to live there for several reasons. There is no solid surface, there are winds up to 1,200 m.p.h, and Neptune has extreme temperatures ranging from -360 to 900 degrees Celsius. Later when Uranus didn't follow the path it was expected to, mathematician Urbain Joseph Le Verrier, suggested there was another planet interfering. After being ignored, be sent his suggestion to Johann Gottfried Galle at the Berlin Observatory. Galle found it in 1846 making it the first planet to be found mathematically. Since then the first and only spacecraft to observe Neptune was the Voyager 2. It was sent in1989. It was sent in 1977 and it took 12 years for it to reach Neptune with occasional stops on a few different planets on the way. EXPLORATION Future
