(cc) image by nuonsolarteam on Flickr Methodology V-Model “The V model is a systems development model designed to simplify the understanding of the complexity associated with developing systems. In systems engineering it is used to define a uniform procedure for product or project development.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-Model) Requirement Analysis is the stage that involves the gathering of needed information regarding the company and analysis of the problems that arises in the system. This is concerned about developing what the ideal system has to perform. Requirement analysis “System Design analyzes and understands the business of the proposed system by studying the user requirements document. They figure out possibilities and techniques by which the user requirements can be implemented. If any of the requirements are not feasible, the user is informed of the issue. A resolution is found and the user requirement document is edited accordingly.” (http://www.onestoptesting.com/sdlc-models/v-model.asp) System Design Program Design is the phase where each of the problems identified will be given equal solution, through developing new processes, functions and interactions. This is needed because this will be used in the next phase, where the logic for the functions is required. Program Design Coding is the phase where the functions and interactions are being developed using a source code of any programming language. This process is written, testing, debugging/troubleshooting and maintenance of the system. Coding The Operations phase is made to provide service for the end-users of the system. For Janet Ballelos Rest House the back-end users are the receptionist, manager and the owner. The Maintenance provides the assurance to avoid future error on the system. The last step on the study of the proposed system for Janet Ballelos Rest House is the Operations and Maintenance. And to ensure the proper function in the system, right maintenance should be exhibited to ensure the safety of the company’s system.proponents assume that there will be possible errors in the future so to avoid any interruption in the company. Operations and Maintenance “In computer programming, unit testing is a method by which individual units of source code are tested to determine if they are fit for use. A unit is the smallest testable part of an application. In procedural programming a unit may be an individual function or procedure. Unit tests are created by programmers or occasionally by white box testers. The purpose is to verify the internal logic code by testing every possible branch within the function, also known as test coverage. Static analysis tools are used to facilitate in this process, where variations of input data are passed to the function to test every possible case of execution.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-Model_(software_development) This phase ensures that the code is implemented correctly. And will surely run in the system testing. Unit Testing “System testing will compare the system specifications against the actual system. After the integration test is completed, the next test level is the system test. System testing checks if the integrated product meets the specified requirements.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V Model_(software_development)
This phase tests is the proposed system is correctly implemented. This system checks if the functions and the codes made was successfully applied. System Testing Acceptance Testing is being done by the customer rather than the developer. This ensures that all the functions needed is met. And the customers validate the requirements step by step to make sure that all requirement needed is done. The proponents conduct a Acceptance Testing to ensure that the requirements for the proposed system for Janet Ballelos is met. Acceptance Testing Results & Findings The proponents conducted 2 different evaluations for the proposed system to present facts that the study wants to discover. The respondents for the evaluation of the proposed system are the manager and 20 random people who had previous experiences in using an Online Billing and Reservation.
The proposed system was also evaluated by random people who also use Online Reservation. Below is the result of the evaluation conducted. The respondents were given 9 questions which must be graded with a scale of 1 (as the lowest) to 5 (as the highest). The above graph states that 8 out of 20 respondents graded the system 4 while 7 of them gave the grade of 3 and the rest gave 2. Based on the information stated the proponents can say that the system is easy to understand and use. The above graph states that 3 out of 20 respondents graded the proper arrangements 4, while 10 of the respondents gave a grade of 3 then the rest gave a grade of 2. Based on the information stated, the proponents can say that the buttons, textboxes, photos and other are in the proper arrangements. The above graph states that 7 out of 20 respondents graded the proper color scheme 4 while 7 of them gave the grade of 3, 3 of the respondents gave a grade of 2 and other gave 1. Based on the information stated the proponents can say that the system has a proper color scheme. The above graph states that 1 out of 20 respondents graded the overll evaluation 5 while 10 of them gave the grade of 4, 7 of them gave 3 and the rest gave 2. Based on the information stated the proponents can say that the system has a good design. The above graph states that 1 out of 20 respondents graded the system 5 while 13 of them gave the grade of 4, 3 of the respondents gave the grade of 3 and the rest gave 2. Based on the information stated the proponents can say the system is merely complete. The above graph states that 2 out of 20 respondents graded the accuracy of the system 5 while 8 of them gave the grade of 4, 7 of the respondents gave 3, 1 gave the grade of 1 and one of them graded the system 1. Based on the information stated the proponents can say that the system is accurate. The above graph states that 2 out of 20 respondents graded the system 5 while 10 of them gave the grade of 4, 7 of them gave 3 and the rest graded the system 2.
