Ancient Greece Geography Strabo Born in Greece, Pontus in
64 BC and died in 23 AD He was a greek geographer and a historian. He studied at Nysa under the grammarian Aristodemus Strabo is mostly famous for his 17-volume work which is called Geographica. Within the books of Geographica he made a map of Europe and a map of the world. Ptolemy He was born in 90AD
and died in 168AD. He assigned coordinates to all the places and geographic features of the world. Arda Dagkilic
Ahmed Canatan Latitude is measured from the equator, but Ptolemy preferred to measure it by his 8th book that he wrote. When he was finding the coordinates,
he used degrees and put the meridian
of 0 degrees on longitude. He was so good in making maps,
that he gave instructions on how to make maps. Eratoshenes He was born in Cyrene at 276BC and died at 195BC. Eratosthenes calculated the circumference of the earth. Works Cited Websites:

How the Greek geographers influenced us: Without the Greek geographers, we could not be able to find exact locations but now we can. What the world would be like without the Greek Geographers: Life would be very hard. On a map you woudn't find coordinates and because
of that you woudn't find the exact locations.
