- seek to form a separate state for their own national group.

- seek to use violence to further what they see as divinely commanded purposes.

State-Sponsored
- groups that are deliberately used by radical states as foreign policy tools.
4.
Left-Wing
- out to destroy capitalism & replace it with a communist or socialist regime.
5.
Right-Wing
- seek to do away with liberal Dem. gov'ts. & create fascist states in their place.
6.
Anarchist
- Revolutionaries that seek to overthrow established governments.

Bio-terrorism
- intentional release of toxic biological agents to harm and terrorize civilians, in the name of a political or other cause.

Cyber-terrorism
- use of information technology to attack civilians & draw attention to their cause.

- violence in the interests of environmentalism.
