He is an activist, writer and speaker. Craig travels the world working and fighting for children's rights. He began an organization called Free The Children at a young age. This is an organization that helps children all around the word stand up for their rights.
Marc Kielburger is Craigs brother who often does work with him to help make a difference. Craig Kielburger and his brother Marc are both very inspirational because they are helping the world become a better place.
Craig Kielburger was born on the 17th of December, 1982 in Thornhill, Ontario. Craig's mom and dad, Fred and Theresa, were both teachers. Craig's older brother, Marc, was born six years before him.
Craig was inspired to make a difference when he picked up a news paper to read the comics. he stumbled upon a story about a boy named Iqbal Masih. Masih was a boy who was 12 years old and worked as a slave in a carpet factory in Pakistan. Iqbal escaped after many years. He had described his life working as a slave. Kielburger was shocked to learn that children his own age were living this way. This is when he decided to start making a difference.
Methods used to achieve goals:
Craig Kielburger has founded the organisations Me to We, and Free the Children. These charities work to free children from child labour and providing a place for children to go after working. He has written many books such as Living Me to We and The Power of We Day. As well as an author, Craig Kielburger is a speaker. He is part of WE Day, an event that occurs in many large cities to bring awareness, educate others, and raise money. Craig tells young people about his story and inspires them to take action. He leads by example. Kielburger has done many, many volunteer trips and has spent many many hours making a better life for others.
Achievements and contributions to the community
Craig Kielburger has done many things that have a large benefit to the world. His main focus was to eliminate and reduce child labour. His organisation Free the Children raised money through coin donations in classrooms to fund a rehabilitation center to take in Pakistani children who have escaped from slavery. This organisation has also built over 500 schools in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Free the Children has also helped to create the “Adopt a Village Model”. This “Model” had established over 23, 000 alternate income projects to assist women and families to produce sustainable incomes for the rest of their lives. Craig has accomplished many of his other goals. He is also recognised by many people for his hard work and his accomplishments. He has won many awards including The Nelson Mandela Human Rights Award and The Community of Christ International Peace Award.
Kielburger shows humility because even though he has done so many great things and is a really great person, he doesn't let it get to his head or expect to be treated better than anyone else. He is very humble also, I can see this because he gives up so much of his free time just to make others lives better. Craig is a great example of someone who has the four cardinal virtues. In his daily life he shows great prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance by making wise decisions that don't just benefit him but everyone around him.
