How Can You Help?
Encourage your children to read every day. Find an author they like and capitalize on that.
Have them study a little every day
Check Parent Portal and talk with your students about their grades. What is going well? What is not going well? Why?

Promotion Criteria
To earn promotion to the 8th grade, students are required to pass 5 out of 6 subjects with a 70% or higher. Two of these 5 subjects
include Math and Language Arts.

Late Work Policy
Students will be given
10 days
to make up any missing assignments. It is the student’s responsibility to coordinate the make-up work with their teacher. It will be up to the teacher’s discretion if points will be deducted based on the nature of the assignment. If the assignment has not been completed within 10 days, the grade will be finalized as a zero.
Northbrook has high expectations for students. Students are expected to demonstrate responsibility for their academics. There are multiple opportunities for students to ensure their success:
Help Sessions
- Wednesdays @ 8:15am with a signed pass
Individual Help
- Students may work one-on-one with teachers with a signed agenda book
Beta Club Tutoring
- Beta Club offers tutoring FREE of charge on Monday and Friday mornings
Saturday School
- 8:00am-12:00pm every other Saturday. This is assigned by the teacher.
