Hangeul, the language of South Korea, is a source of pride in the country. In the 15th century, King Seojong gathered the brightest scholars at the time and created a writing system that could be learned by Koreans of all classes; to this day, the literacy rate of Korea is 99%.
In the recent years, Korea’s economy and its entertainment industry have skyrocketed since the Korean War.
Today, South Korea is the Unites States’ seventh-largest trading partner and is the 15th largest economy in the world.
