The author's opinion about Jessie Owens is that he became a hero of the 1936 Olympic Games."
Wilma Rudolph and Jessie Owens are alike because they are both track Athletes.

Wilma and Jesse were different because Wilma was born prematurely and Jesse was not.

Bethany Hamilton
Bethany Hamilton was attacked by a 14 foot tiger shark.
Wilma Rudolph had pneumonia and polio as a child and also had to were a metal brace for several years.
Michael Oher estranged father was murdered while Michael was in high school.Also Michael was in and out of foster homes and frequently homeless.
Simon Keith had a heart transplant
Jesse Owens was a sickly child and often too frail to help his father and brothers.
Tom Dempsey was a N.F.L kicker who was born with out toes on his right foot.

"She was born prematurely... and the doctor doubted she would survive."

"For several years ,her mother,brother or sister had to mossage her legs four times a day, and then she had to wear a metal brace for years."
Wilma was very poor as a child.
"At a age of 16 Wilma Rudolph won a bronze medal at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne, Australia."
" In addition to his studies and participation in track, Owens worked three jobs to pay his tuition.
" At the Big Ten Conference track and field championships at the University of Michigan in 1935, he broke three world records and tied another."
" Also for forty years after Owens won his gold medals, he was invited to the White House to accept a Medal of Freedom."
Owens won a total of four gold medals at the Olympic Games."

Another way they are alike is they both often sickly as a child.

One more thing that Wilma and Jessie have in common is that they both where not just in track at school they were both also in the Olympics.
