in 1986 was the
first to use the term "Glass Ceiling"
to refer to the
gender bias in Corporate America. At the time in the United States,
women made 60 cents for every
dollar earned by a man. That's just because women work in lower paying jobs. Right? Woman earn more than half of all graduate degrees, but only make up 5% of C-level executives. ontributing Factors:

Sexism/Perception And it's not just in the U.S. In 2011, women MBA graduates received half the job offers of their male counterparts, despite sending out 20% more applications.
For the same work with the same qualifications, men make 5 percent to 7 percent more than women. Though blacks, Hispanics, and American Indians represent roughly 30 percent of the population, they fill only 3 percent of senior management positions at American corporations and nonprofits.
