How was basketball invented.
James Naismith was the creator of basketball. He was a gym instructor at the YMCA, to fill the months between fall football and spring baseball his boss gave him the job of organizing some indoor game. Finally he decided on the idea of a non contact game in witch players could not run with the ball. The janitor hung two peach baskets on the balcony for them to shout at.
The backboard that the rim is attached to can be made of metal, fiberglass, wood or tempered glass.
At first Naismith attempted to improve outdoor games such as lacrosse, ruby and soccer into indoor play with no success. Some people that were watching the new game suggested to call the game "Naismith Ball", but is inventor gave it the name "Basketball" instead. basketball is the most watched and played game in the world. It is an all american invented sport.
The point of the game is to score points. Within a specified time limit the team that scores the most points is the winner. You are not allowed to run with the ball even though basketball is a running sport. Players have these options shoot, dribble, or pass. Dribbling means to bounce the ball while running. Usually five players are on a side. Baskets placed on each end of the court is what you shoot at.
S.U. is Syracuse's basketball team.
This is a dunk a very popular move.
