The Da Vinci Robot
1.What task does the robot perform? What human function or task does this robot simulate?
The Da Vinci Robot is built to do surgeries. The human function that it represents is arms & hands.
2.Where is the robot used? What is its work envelope (how many degrees of freedom or flexible joints does it have)?
The Da Vinci Robot is used in operating rooms.
The robot itself doesn't do anything on it's own the surgeon controls everything.
3.Is the robotic end effector multi-functional? If so, what other tasks can it perform?
The Da Vinci robot can perform : heart surgery, stomach surgery(cancer), surgeries for obesity, head and neck surgeries.
4.How is the robot taught to perform its task?
The robot cant do anything on its own. The surgeon controls everything the robot does during the surgery.
5.What sensors does the robot have and how does the robot use these sensors?
The Da Vinci Robot has sensors for vision to make the vision more clear and for hand movement.
6.Name some advantages and disadvantages
Advantages of the Da Vinci Robot are : Quicker recovery, less blood loss, shorter hospital stay, and less pain.
Disadvantages of the Da Vinci Robot are : hard to learn how to operate, and it's VERY expensive.
The Da Vinci Robot has made it easier to do surgeries. By the surgeries getting done faster. And the quicker recovery.
7. Describe the impact that this robot has had or could have on its intended audience.

This Robot has made more jobs like : Surgeons, soft wear jobs, and engineers.
9.Predict and explain how this robot may be altered to perform more or different tasks in the future
By updating the soft wear the Da Vinci Robot it could be able to do all types of surgery.
