Colonial History Brief
-Founded by the Puritans in 1620. Was founded by John Winthrop. The Puritans came seeking religious freedom. Their economy consisted of providing materials for ship building and growing a variety of crops.
-Massachusetts was also the landing place of the Mayflower and the pilgrims. It was also a hotbed of revolutionary actions during the American Revolution.
People living there
-Puritans, A religious minority group who migrated to the new world seeking to create a model religious community.
Type of Economy
- The Puritans farmed a variety of different crops that helped them to become economically successful.
Founder
-Founded by John Winthrop and other colonists in 1630.
Why settle?
-It is a community founded on the concept of religious freedom.
-It is economically successful and they grow a variety pf great crops.

-Puritans, A religious minority group that believed that the Anglican church had to be cleansed by Catholicism.
