Vine was released to the public on January 24th, 2013, founded by Dom Hofmann, Rus Yusupov, and Colin Kroll.
Vine was bought by Twitter in October of 2012, about a year before it was released.
Most commonly used for comedy or "Vine Magic",
which is cuts to the Vine to make it look absolutely mind blowing. (The guy on the left is Zach King, he does vine magic, and the guy on the right is Thomas Sanders, he does comedy, they're some of the best)
As always on the internet, be sure to watch
out for people trying to make you do things
that you don't feel comfortable doing, or posting something you don't want to. You can even add privacy settings to your account to control who and who can't see your Vines.
Vine can be a awesome place, as long as
you follow the rules, be careful what you post,
and be sure to be a good online citizen.
You should also be careful of giving out account/personal information to strangers.
Although Vine does have some inappropriate parts to it, overall it had many great qualities as well and is a great app for sharing videos
