Habit 6: Synergize
Celebrating Differences
Learn to celebrate differences
Diversity around you is increasing
Since diversity is increasing you have an important decision to make...
deciding how to handle it.

Level 1: Shunner's Pofile
◾◾
Shunners are afraid of differences

Disturbed by the fact that people have different skin colors, worship a different God, or wear a different brand of jeans than they do

They're convinced that their way of life is the “best” or “right’, or even the “only” way of life.

Level 2: Tolerators Profile
Believe everyone has the right to be different

Don’t shun diversity but don’t embrace it either

You keep to yourself and I’ll keep to myself. You do your thing and let me do mine. You don’t bother me and I won’t bother you.’

They come close to synergy but never get there because they see differences and not strengths

Level 3: Celebrators Profile

Value Differences

See differences as an advantage not a weakness

They know that 2 people who work together will achieve more

Diversity= Creative Sparks= OPPORTUNITY

Katie Hooper, Paulina Manrriquez

Alone we can do so little together we can do so much.
-Helen Keller

What is Synergy?
◦Synergy is achieved when two or more people work together to create a better solution. Its not your way or my way but a better way.
