REGGAE
IS THE WAY
TO GO!!
The start of
reggae
The first music of reggae was recorded on 1951. The music was mostly played by poor people of the Jamaican ghettos. In 1954 Ken Khouri started Jamaica's first record label, "Federal Records".This led to the "bluebeat" groups, which basically were Jamaica's version of the New Orleans sound. They usually featured saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, drums and bass. Soon the bass became the dominant instrument, and the sound evolved into the "ska". some big artists of the time were Robert Nesta Marley or known as Bob Marley, Buju Bantan and Ken Khouri.
BoB Marley's life
Bob Nesta Marley was born on February 6th, 1945. He was a Jamaican singer/songwriter who achieved international fame through a series of crossover reggae albums. His first band/group was the wailers. After the
Wailers disbanded in 1974,[4] Marley pursued a solo career which culminated in the release of the album Exodus in 1977 which would help him reach his worldwide reputation. He died on May 11th, 1981.
