But, that doesn't mean they don't need help. Anorexia mirabilis The 2nd type of Anorexia where one starve's themselves, mainly middle aged women and girls, in the name of god. such acts will be sleeping on thorns, starvation to the point of death, and ascetic practices
(the aim of pursuing religious and spiritual goals). Deaths from Anorexia includes complications, fatality, life expectancy and survival rate information. Did you know? Angela of Foligno, an author of the 1200s, was a sufferer of anorexia mirabilis. She didn't eat anything but eucharist, whine and bread, and was reported that she had ate scabs, lice and drank pus from the sores of the sick. Some "Ana" sites talk about how to become anorexic. It's disgusting and degrading to think that it is necessary to become anorexic just for the thought of becoming "beautiful". Once you become anorexic, it'll be hard to get out of it. With thoughts such as "the meat is dead cat" or "Owl brains" in mind, food ends up looking and sounding horrible. This could become daily thinking and it'll only worsen later on when starvation starts killing. There is no true way of why people become anorexic, for it is a "complex mix of cultural, social, familial, psychological, and biological influences unique to each person." It was most likely that they choose to become anorexic for appearance purposes and another could be an influence from the culture of thinness. Why? What? Anorexia, the cause of fast dieting and pain. It can also harm the way of thinking for fear of eatting. Anorexia:
