A Director of Rooms is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of guest services, valet services, concierge and uniformed services, housekeeping, laundry, and communications in an attentive, friendly, efficient, and courteous manner. The Director of Rooms is also overall responsible for providing all guests with quality service while maximizing room revenue and productivity, and developing managers and employees.
A housekeeping manager supervises cleaning personnel to ensure guestrooms are attractive. Housekeeping managers are responsible for obtaining a list of rooms to be cleaned quickly, as well as potential discharges and checkouts to prepare work assignments. They also look into guest complaints about service or equipment and inspect their employees' work. In addition, housekeeping managers monitor stock, buy new furnishings, inspect the building to identify repair or replacement needs and recommend improvements to ensure more efficient operation.
The Assistant to the DOR is responsible for preparing agendas in advance, arranging meeting facilities and acts as recording secretary. The assistant takes initiative in manager’s absence.
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for all duties of the housekeeping operation and cleanliness levels in all areas of the property. Responsibilities include: staff training, inter- department communications, and staff scheduling. This position requires strong attention to detail, leadership skills, and the ability to effectively deal with department heads, guests, and team members.
Housekeeping coordinators are also responsible for scheduling, supervising, hiring and training housekeepers. They ensure that there are enough adequate cleaning supplies, and place orders for new inventory when necessary. Overall, the primary tasks for housekeeping coordinators include assigning cleaning tasks, checking that the work is done properly and producing reports representing the hours worked by employees and budget expenses.
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supports the Executive Housekeeper in all duties of the housekeeping operation and cleanliness levels in all areas of the property. Responsibilities include: staff training, inter-department communications, and staff scheduling.
Job purpose of Floor supervisor is to inspect and maintain the cleanliness and physical condition of the hotel guest rooms, meeting rooms, hallways and public areas. They evaluate Room Cleaners on their job performance according to the hotel standards. When necessary, they take appropriate action to ensure that their job performance is at a high quality level
Room Attendants are responsible for the cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, and public areas in the hotel. Responsibilities include: servicing guest rooms daily in accordance with hotel procedures, stocking cart with room supplies, and replacing bed linens and replenishing guest room supplies. This position requires strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form, and the ability to bend, lift, and be standing or walking all day.
To ensure that all guests mini-bars are correctly stocked. To maintain high standards of cleanliness and to ensure profitability. They personally respond to all complaints reported by Mini Bar Attendants, and communicate them to the Room Service Manager on duty
Mini bar attendants must maintain the inventory in guest room mini bars. Mini bar attendants are responsible for charging each guest for his use of items in the mini bar. They must restock each mini bar according to what has been purchased. They must report any guest complaints or charge discrepancies to their supervisors immediately.
The basic role is to issue uniforms and linen to staff according to systems and procedures laid down by management. Also to control the movement of soiled and fresh linen and uniforms to and from the linen / uniform room. They maintain all relevant records in respect of material uniforms / linen – their storage and movement.
A laundry supervisor makes sure a laundry facility is operating as smoothly as possible. Laundry supervisors make sure that the standards are set so that laundry is properly cleaned. They are in charge of managing laundry workers.
