The unified economic agreement between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council was signed on 11 November 1981 in Abu Dhabi.

*Discovery of oil in the Arab States has brought deep change in industry.
This called for strengthening and reinforcing this co-operation and many agreement were concluded and signaled between Arab Gulf States:
Some of these agreements were bilateral and others were collective
-boosting economic growth & progress by setting up joint economic projects
Serious continuous efforts to implement economic unity
To this effect, "United Economic Agreement" was signed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Among other thing, this agreement aims at achieving:
-Expansion of locally-made trade among members of the AGCC states
-Establishing major joint industrial projects in the agricultural and industrial fields
Aim of a unified currency and of the Gulf Dinar:
The "Unified Economic Agreement" of the AGCC has brought about, and is still bringing about, remarkable economic growth.
Educational & Cultural Cooperation
Ministers of Education in the Arab Gulf States meet once every two years to agree the bases of educational projects.
It Aims Are:
-Propagation of Knowledge
-Eradication of Illiteracy
-Development of educational methods & processes in line with the latest innovations applied in this connection in the development world

Cooperation in cultural fields
Hold periodic meeting to discuss projects that would improve life in the Gulf Arab States
