Transcript of How to multiply and divide fractions

How to divide fractions
To divide fractions is like multiplying fractions, but a bit different. For example,25/64 / 5/8.So,you need to multiply it by its reciprocal. So its like 25/64 * 8/5,which is 200/320.That's dividing fractions.
Examples:3/8 / 3/4.3/8 * 4/3=12/24
a.8/9 / 2/3=x
b.72/100 / 2/5=x
c.9/20 / 3/4=x
d.40/50 / 4/5=x

How to multiply fractions
To multiply fractions is to just multiply how it is like 3/4 * 4/10 so you multiply it like 3*4=12,4*10=40,12/40.Thats multiplying fractions.
Examples:2/3 * 5/7=10/21
a.4/5 * 7/8=x
b.5/9 * 3/5=x
c.2/8 * 6/20=x
d.20/30 * 5/12=x
How to multiply/divide integers with fractions
To multiply/dividing integers with fractions,you use the rule to multiply/divide integers and fractions.For example -15 * 2/3 is also 2/3 * -15/1.Thats all.
Examples:-15 * 3/4=x
a.23 / 2/3=x
b.-5 * 5/6=x
c.-10 / 5/8=x
d.34 * 6/9=x
Multiplying/Dividing fractions and improper fractions

Sometimes in a problem, you might find a problem like this 5/6 * 6 and 1/2 or 7 and 3/4 / 2/3.You can't divide or multiply improper fractions,so you need to change it to a fraction. So like 6 and 1/2 can be 13/2, so multiply it by the other fraction which is 5/6 * 13/2=65/12.
Examples:5/7 * 4 and 6/10,5/7 * 46/10=230/70
a.4 and 2/3 / 1/2=x
b.3/4 * 7 and 4/5=x
c.3/5 / 5 and 3/7=x
d.3 and 1/2 * 2/3=x
